Nestled between Forbes Magazine’s #1 and #4 boomtowns (Austin and San Antonio), New Braunfels is a preferred exurb of the area. It was the second fastest growing city in the nation in 2017 and has grown by 36% since 2010. Families are attracted to the area for its highly rated school system and active, outdoor lifestyle. There’s shopping, fine dining, and live music in Gruene; tubing on the Guadalupe river and at Schlitterbahn water park; the 51 acre Landa Park for young children; sailing, swimming, fishing, and boating at Canyon Lake and Lake McQueeney; wine tasting in the Hill Country; and a an old fashioned drive-in movie theatre. There’s so much to do, in fact, that New Braunfels receives over 3 million visitors per year. Not bad for a city of 70,000.
The city’s ideal location on Interstate 35 gives residents all the employment opportunities of San Antonio and Austin, as well as nearby San Marcos and Seguin, while still affording them the relaxed pace of a small town—a perfect place to raise a family.
