In general, new home warranties assure a home buyer that the improvements to the property will be habitable and constructed in a good and workmanlike manner, free from defects in material and workmanship for one year. Damage to homes that occurs post-closing and maintenance work are not covered.
What is covered by the 2-year warranty?
Please refer to your closing documents for specifics. In general, the mechanical systems are covered in the 2-year warranty period by the builder. Damage to homes that occurs post-closing and maintenance work are not covered.
What is covered in the 10-year warranty?
Please refer to your closing documentation for details. The 10 year warranty is managed by a third-party warranty company, and typically covers the main structures of the home.
