San Antonio was the third fastest growing major metropolitan area between 2010 and 2019 and is Forbes Magazine's #4 boomtown. The city is projected to add a million people over the next 20 years, closing in on three million people by 2040. This, in part, explains the rapid rise in home prices. From June of 2019 to June of 2020, the average home price shot up by 19 percent to $345,114 from $289,517.
San Antonio's Far West side is currently a hot spot for this growth, driven to a large extent by the number of major employers within a twenty minute drive including USAA, Citibank, American Funds, Valero, UTSA, Six Flags, Marathon Petroleum, Camp Bullis, and a concentration of data centers and call centers on nearby Highway 151.
Gramercy Village is located outside Loop 1604 just past the Alamo Ranch shopping district and is convenient to lots of nearby outdoor activities including swimming, boating, and fishing at Medina Lake; hiking at Government Canyon; and cycling on San Antonio's 70-mile linear park system. It is in the North Side Independent School District within a few minutes drive of three brand new campuses: Harlan High School, Straus Middle School, and Nathan Kallison Elementary. It's a great place to raise a family!
